A delicious shiver trailed down Ginger’s back. It traveled low, sparking bits of excitement along the way and waking up parts that shouldn’t be allowed to brighten when in Lee’s presence.

There was no denying the heat that arced between them, but she hated his prissiness, his up-in-the-air haughtiness and his general way of looking down on her. Just because she didn’t eat——or cook——things like dandelion greens topped with smoked butter beurre blanc beside Kobe beef tartare didn’t mean he outclassed her. She’d simply discovered a long time ago that there was more to life than keeping up appearances. She’d rather be simple, clean and just plain ol’ good.

“Asshole,” she grumbled, almost beneath her breath, but certainly loud enough for him to hear. “You just don’t like the fact that you reside over here in hoighty toity land. Hell, if you eat escargot with a salad fork, someone’s likely to hand out a citation. ”

“And over there, forks are nonexistent. Got indoor plumbing yet?”

She smiled big, a silly little grin that made his lower abdomen tighten, but he watched those hands ball into fists and settle on her hips.

He pushed me against the brick wall. No finesse, but not too rough either. Allowed me to drop my guard a little. Not all the way because I’m not stupid, but enough so that I could enjoy this.

“John,” he whispered before his mouth fell onto mine. John echoed in my head as bliss and high weaved through me.

Lee was achingly gorgeous. Good looking in a Levis jeans, plaid shirt rolled up at the sleeves and thick, brown steel toed construction boots kind of way. He couldn’t be mistaken for anything but all male. A masculine form that made her panties dampen.

She kept her own fingernails short for the sake of sanitation, but when he held up thick fingers, dark and rough, lined with calluses, she’d gone weak kneed. The things he could probably do to her body with those strong hands. The way they would feel against her skin.

Works In Progress:

• I’m writing the next CLOSE TO THE HEAT story and honestly, this one is kicking my butt. Part of it is because I’m going through a lot of life changes, but also because I’ve chosen a storyline that’s just fucking difficult. It’s a challenge that I insist on beating, but it also means slow going. But I love me a foodie romance, so I persevere. 
• Loose Id offered authors a chance to write a short epilogue for one of their stories. I’m seriously considering doing this, but the deadline is so tight, I’m not sure that I’ll manage. We’ll see.

Books I’m Reading:

I’ve been having a hell of a time finding a single story that holds my attention for more than a few minutes at a time, so right now I’m bouncing between: 

Beyond Shame by Kit Rocha. It’s about a woman’s sexual discovery and understanding that she can let go of shame because she likes to indulge in kink, etc. Right now, I’m reading a sizzling m/f/f/m scene.
The Scent of Shadows by Vicki Petterson. I’m only on the second chapter, but it’s got this great urban fantasy, but leaning toward paranormal feel that I love. First person POV haters, this one isn’t for you. Each book in the entire series is currently only $0.99.
Skin by Kylie Scott is the only book I’ve pre-ordered in years. It’s the sequel to Flesh and although I didn’t find it as compelling as the first book, it’s still an excellent read. Never in a million years would I have said that zombie romances could work…until I started this series. Skin did some fine-line walking with dubious consent, but in the end it worked. Trust me on this one.
