So, I finished THE CRAFT OF THE WISE 3 last night. Whew! Thanks to my fellow Cobblestone Press authors for hosting a ‘book in a week challenge’ where I got the vast majority of this story done. When I typed those lovely words (you know, "THE END"), I swore out loud to myself that today would be a non-writing day. I was going to pick up the three novels I’ve started (I know, I know) and put them all to bed tonight. Then there’s also the matter of two more ebooks I’ve acquired over the last couple of days that I want to get my paws on too. Yesterday morning though, I received a contract for a yet-to-be-written paranormal erotic romance that I’ve entitled FAR TO GO. (We’re still negotiating the terms of the contract, so it’s not *official* yet, but I don’t anticipate any hang ups.) So what does that mean? It means get my BIC (butt in chair for any non-writers out there) and start the next project. But wait!!! I was supposed to spend this week revising THE PRICE OF PLEASURE so that I could send it out and finish outlining SIN OF THE FATHER to work on for NaNo at midnight on Nov 1st. But wait!!! I said I would enter a flash fiction contest and need to jot something down for that since the deadline is in two days.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
So there. Now you see how priorities can change at the drop of a hat. I won’t even mention that I have four manuscripts out for decisions right now. If I get a contract for any of those…. Oy. I suppose all of this is a good problem to have. No complaints from me.
(well. not really.)

Kris Eton once blogged that she was in editing heaven . Could someone please find this little place in Nirvana and point me to it? I just received the first round of edits to Four Percent and once again, like for all my other manuscripts, I’m dreading opening the email containing the document full of slashes and comments and updates and red marks to my baby. Do they need to be there? Absolutely. Will they make my writing that much stronger and that much more polished? Of course. Then why, oh why, is it so painful to read them? I kid you not when I say it takes me about two days and a couple glasses of wine to read through them at first. I guess I have been struck by the same curse that afflicts most other writers. We’re insecure about our projects at some point in the game. For some, it’s while they’re writing. For others, it’s after they send it off to a publisher or editor. For me, it’s those during those dreaded, dreaded edits.
Someone give me a hug.

(Perhaps immortalized is too strong a word, but I digress…) This post has absolutely nothing to do with writing or even hot men, so if that’s what you’re looking for, go back now.
I’m actually here today to beg, plead, grovel at your feet for something that has been eluding me for years. Those who know me know I love to cook and bake. Yesterday as I was procrastinating writing (hee!), I scoured the internet for yet another chocolate chip cookie recipe. I discarded recipe after recipe. None of them seemed to have exactly what I’m looking for. My criteria? Not that bad, I assure you. Here’s what I want: big, flat, soft and chewy. (With the exception of soft, pretty much describes how I like my men too. *snort*) Any hoo…anybody out there got a recipe you care to part with that will meet my criteria? I’m desperate, I tell ya. Desperate!
If someone has a secret recipe they are willing to give me, I’ll not only put your name on the dedication line on the first book in the Craft of the Wise series, I’ll even name a character after you in one of the books. That’s not a bad trade. C’mon! I’ve got a whole bag of gourmet chocolate chips just itching to be used.
