And although this month started with a bang, I got a new day job. As a result, I have much less time to write than I did for the past six months. If things have slowed down on my end, now you know why. As of right now, I’m woefully behind on my NaNo projects. FAR TO GO is coming along nicely, but I’m no where near where I thought I would be by today. Y’all cheer me on, k?

Lastly, I need some good advice. I’m looking for a certain set of books (print or ebook; it doesn’t matter). Can anyone recommend some good erotic romances about dragons, submissive males or any urban fantasy that just rocked your world? Leave me a comment with the name of the author, the book(s) and publisher if you know it. I anticipate wanting some down time in December and need to fortify my stock! (BTW, if the book sucks, I’m coming back to find you. lol)

Yes, I’d prefer you did the smart thing and backed Obama, but really, I just want you to get out there and vote. Period.

Here’s some Election ‘08 fun to get you in the spirit

(Perhaps immortalized is too strong a word, but I digress…) This post has absolutely nothing to do with writing or even hot men, so if that’s what you’re looking for, go back now.

I’m actually here today to beg, plead, grovel at your feet for something that has been eluding me for years. Those who know me know I love to cook and bake. Yesterday as I was procrastinating writing (hee!), I scoured the internet for yet another chocolate chip cookie recipe. I discarded recipe after recipe. None of them seemed to have exactly what I’m looking for. My criteria? Not that bad, I assure you. Here’s what I want: big, flat, soft and chewy. (With the exception of soft, pretty much describes how I like my men too. *snort*) Any hoo…anybody out there got a recipe you care to part with that will meet my criteria? I’m desperate, I tell ya. Desperate!

If someone has a secret recipe they are willing to give me, I’ll not only put your name on the dedication line on the first book in the Craft of the Wise series, I’ll even name a character after you in one of the books. That’s not a bad trade. C’mon! I’ve got a whole bag of gourmet chocolate chips just itching to be used.

For the past two nights I’ve had a doozy of a dream - part I and part II. You know, the kind of dream that when you finally wake up, you can feel your heart hammering in your chest. The kind that makes you wonder if you’ll be able to fall back asleep…EVER. In very loose terms, it was similar to those old “Invasion of the Body Snatcher” type movies. And in my dreams, hardly anyone makes it out alive. Heck. I can’t remember if I make it out alive. lol.

Make lemonade out of lemons I always say.

I’ve jotted down the basic premise for a story based on those dreams. Somehow I’ll try to turn the adrenaline rush into something sexy too. We’ll see what we see. Right now, I have so many story ideas running around my little brain that my fingers can’t keep up with the necessary typing. And this from the person who only a few days ago couldn’t find the motivation to write. Such is life.

And on a personal note, if you’re an adult who is told that you need braces, of course, by all means get them. But if your orthodontist tells you it will only be for two years - HE LIES. June of ‘08 marks three years that I’ve had these suckers on. But the good news is that June 3rd of this year, these puppies are coming off!! Oh yeah!
