“Readers need to come prepared with a box of tissue when they sit down to read Letting Go. It is a story which appears insignificant at first but soon reveals itself to be huge. The author takes the pain of loss and gives it to the reader and then takes it back with a wonderful ending that demonstrates how unselfish true love should be. The love scene between Nadine, Simon and Justin is a unique experience and a wonderful ending to such a special story of love.” 5 cups, Delane, Coffee Time Romance
“Wow…The book is written in such a style that practically anyone can pick this book up and enjoy it. And the sex scene – ooh la la. Hot, hot hot. Plenty of steaminess and happiness wrap this book up perfectly.” Laura Moreno, You Gotta Read Reviews
“Dee Carney’s writing is evocative, realistic, and driven with a nicely edged humor and a hot, sexy feel. The back and forth in the dialogue between Kane and Nadine made me smile…I appreciated the twist of a sudden loss and the care that went into fleshing those emotions out for the reader, while not making it the sole focus of the book. I also thought the paranormal element was integrated nicely, and fit with the tone of the story. A great read.” 5 Hearts, Jean, The Romance Studio
“Letting Go opens with a bang…The heart-wrenching twist surprised me and made the read all the more enjoyable. I believed the events took place, that they could take place in the real world, and in a way, it brought me comfort. The erotic scenes are very well done. In fact, the great writing, cool plot, and overall feel of the book are well done.” 5 Brainys, Fanny Hill, Cerebral Reviews
“This story was not quite what I was expecting but I wasn’t disappointed…I read this all in one sitting, amazingly enough. I was instantly smitten by Kane’s character…Ms. Carney has crafted a wonderful piece of erotica with Thursday’s Child: Letting Go, and I give it Four Delightful Divas.” Dakota, Dark Diva Reviews
“Letting Go was a wonderful and poignant read. It talks about grief, friendship, love, and finding out that the unexpected can be one of the best things you can have. A definite recommendation!” 4.25 Hearts, Lilyraines, Night Owl Romance
Before she could even cross the threshold, Kane yanked on her hand. He was panting as if he’d just come back from a long-distance run. “You’re so not going to believe this.”
He wore a face-splitting grin, his cheeks and ears red. Something about the darkened gleam in his eyes was familiar. By the time he all but dragged her to the living room window, she remembered why she knew that look.
He whistled low. “I am never leaving your apartment again. Look!”
It took a moment for her to follow the direction of his finger. When she caught sight of what held his attention, Nadine’s brows shot up. They had a direct view into a neighbor’s window. Not just any neighbor, either. The lipstick lesbians she’d seen on the street occupied the apartment one floor down and two windows to the left of where they stood.
Either their blinds were broken, or they wanted to proclaim their love for the world to see. Literally.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” she muttered. She whirled on Kane. “You’re like a magnet for this shit!”
He grinned and looked past her. His face straightened as he inhaled on a quick breath. “Son of a bitch.”
Somehow knowing she would regret looking, Nadine turned back to the window. This time her jaw dropped. The lesbians weren’t strict lesbians, after all.
A dark-haired Adonis wearing a pair of black boxer-briefs walked in with two beverages and handed them to the women who were in various states of undress. They broke from their kiss to acknowledge him, each taking a sip from her respective glass before setting it down. He reached over and stroked one woman’s unfettered breast. The other woman, apparently unwilling to be left out of the fun, slipped her hand into his briefs. The slow up-down motion of her hand inside the material riveted Nadine to the spot.
Kane stood behind her, so close she could feel the warmth of his presence down her spine. She started to turn, started to tell him they shouldn’t be watching.
He seemed to anticipate her move. His voice was low, husky. “Watch with me just a little bit longer.”
She knew they shouldn’t be doing this. It brought the sexual tension in their relationship too close to home for the second time in a few days. But she nodded, took half a step backward so their bodies touched. Her eyes closed when his hands rested on her shoulders.
“Watch, Nadine,” he whispered.
She opened her eyes to view one of the women kneeling before the man, pulling his briefs down with her as she dropped to the floor. He seemed oblivious to her actions, his mouth locked onto the other woman’s lips, their kiss passionate and enticing.
When a heavy cock emerged into view, Kane’s grip tightened.
